The San Diego County Women’s Hall of Fame Selection Committee has partnered with Moxie Theatre to assist in the virtual induction of its 2020 class, which includes Congresswoman Susan Davis, activist Kathi Anderson, and historian Dr. Iris Engstrand. Honorees also include Dr. Nola Butler Byrd, Dr. Lupe Buell, Dr. Sue Gonda, and Olivia Puentes Reynolds. “These women represent and reflect the breadth and depth of the diversity of our community,” says Hall of Fame co-chair Rebecca Boyce. “They have selflessly and courageously contributed to San Diego and the world at large. Their lifetime of work and achievements have improved lives and have left a lasting impact. They are role models of our time; their stories inspire us all.” The selection committee notes the honorees, chosen from more than 200 nominations, “have worked tirelessly to improve the lives of other women and to bring change to our communities.” Awards are based on values, empowerment, activism, trailblazing, cultural competency, and historical preservation. Emcees for the program are Jerrilyn Malana, Esq., and Professor Starla Lewis. The Honorable Randa Trapp, judge of the Superior Court, will officially induct the seven honorees. Current and new tickets holders will be issued a unique link to view and participate in the online event. sandiegowomenshalloffame.org
