San Diego Opera presented “A Night to Dream,” its 2022 midsummer gala that honored the contributions to the community by Sherry and Kevin Ahern. The evening featured a private performance by Grammy award-winning opera star Reginald Smith, Jr., who dazzled audiences in his company debut this season in Così fan tutte. Chaired by Rebecca and Mitch Mitchell, the event also featured a champagne reception, al fresco dining, additional performances by singers Tasha Koontz and Ted Pickell, and a program with live auction and a paddle raise.
