Feeding San Diego’s Pairings with a Purpose fundraiser returned as an intimate dinner party to bring the community together over a shared meal for a culinary experience with purpose. Guests enjoyed a four-course meal by Top Chef star Angelo Sosa and Chef Ruffo Ibarra, the new executive chef of downtown’s The Guild Hotel, in the sparkling courtyard of The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center in. The chefs wore custom Feeding San Diego aprons created by premier sponsor Chef Works, which every guest took home as well. The exquisite menu included a swordfish mosaic with swordfish donated from Tunaville Market, mesquite roasted yam with 511-day aged mole negro, braised short rib, and a miso Basque cheesecake. Guests also sipped on canned cocktails from supporting sponsor Melograno, as well as custom cocktails made with Deep Eddy Vodka, plus wine and beer from Modern Times Beer and The Wine Militia. Local jazz crooner Erica Davies and her band serenaded guests. Funds raised by the dinner helped provide 28,000 meals to San Diegans facing hunger.
