50th Anniversary Gala
Center for Community Solutions raised $560,000 at the organization’s 50th Anniversary Gala aboard the USS Midway. The funds raised will support CCS’ mission to provide intervention, healing, advocacy, and prevention programs and services for individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. The keynote speaker was Academy Award-winning actor and advocate Geena Davis, who shared anecdotes of her career in Hollywood. Widely known for her tireless advocacy of women and girls, Davis will receive the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award this fall in recognition of her work over the decades to fight gender bias on and off the screen in Hollywood. CCS’ annual Tea & Tonic event will be held in October.
