Writer’s Symposium

Writer’s Symposium
February 18-21, 2019 | Point Loma Nazarene University
The highly regarded Writer’s Symposium by the Sea series returns for its 24th year. Major literary figures have participated in these terrific symposia over nearly two and a half decades. With the theme of “Writing That Imagines,” this year’s lineup is compelling, with journalist and documentary filmmaker Jody Hassett Sanchez; award-winning novelist of African-based science fiction, fantasy, and magical realism, Nnedi Okorafor; poet, essayist, and editor, Christian Wiman; and the well-known Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne. Familiar to all via NPR and PBS as well as the Post, Dionne is also a popular book author. Discussions with writers at these events are revealing, informative, and entertaining. 619.849.2297, pointloma.edu/writers Darlene G. Davies
