Vigilucci’s Beach Bocce World Championship

Jul. 9

North County Artist Roger Chandler has created the signature art for Vigilucci’s Beach Bocce World Championship XXXVI, which benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad. Scheduled to be held at Dog Beach in Del Mar, Vigilucci’s Beach Bocce World Championship has sold out in record time once again this year. Players and spectators will get a chance to bid on Chandler’s painting, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad.

Chandler was awarded a full scholarship to art school at the young age of 18, and began his career as a technical illustrator at NASA when the space shuttle program was in its infancy. Since that time he has become an award-winning artist and illustrator, with his artwork featured on magazine covers, national advertisements, editorial art, brochures, and billboards.

Inspired by the surf and sea, Chandler selected his 19-year-old daughter, Carlye, to be the model for the artwork. “I like to think my paintings reflect the amazing adventures I’ve had, and convey that indescribable feeling of a beautiful sunset reflecting on perfect wave on a perfect beach,” states Chandler. “It was fun having a new project with a narrow focus to work on, and I am pleased to be a part of the elite group of artists who have created for this tournament.” 760.444.4893, beachbocce.com
