Labor Day weekend, House of Ukraine in Balboa Park presents its 2015 Ukrainian Festival. The festivities kick off on Saturday, September 5, with a cabaret-style dinner at the San Diego Elks Club Lodge, with entertainment by the Suzirya Ukrainian Dance Theatre from Calgary, Alberta. On Sunday, September 6, the annual Lawn Program takes place at the International Cottages’ Stage from 12-3pm, with a free hour-long dance program and Ukrainian food available for purchase. The weekend will close the evening of the 6th with Vatra, a bonfire with fire-roasted goodies at a bayside beach to be announced. (www.houseofukraine.org)
