Larger Than Life
From a lone surfer at Black’s Beach to Tahitian palms backlit by the setting sun, Aaron Chang’s colossal images are captivating. “It’s almost like being there,” says Chang, who credits the digital revolution for the stunning clarity and detail of his photographs, right down to the “water drops on the face of a wave.” The out-sized images — some up to eight feet long — can be printed on everything from glass to recycled aluminum. Chang, who recently debuted his new collection at the W Hotel, just celebrated the grand opening of his own gallery in Solana Beach. Part of the proceeds benefited the Surfrider Foundation.
