Francis Parker School

Since 1912, Francis Parker School has been a leader in primary and secondary education in Southern California. Founded as a progressive alternative to the static educational methods of the early 20th century, Parker graduates embody qualities essential for academic success and personal fulfillment – intellectual curiosity, creative thinking, passion for learning, ethical responsibility, self-reliance, community engagement, and global competence. The school offers a balanced, challenging, diverse, and integrated K-12 program in academics, athletics, and the arts.

We cultivate students who strive for academic excellence while maintaining social and emotional well-being. They are prepared to participate in the fundamental human conversation on what is right, fair, and good, by developing the proper skills, aptitude, and imagination. Parker students effectively combine the skills of design, invention, leadership, and risk-taking with proficiency in purposeful research, effective writing, persuasive discourse, and traditional academic subject areas. They are familiar with the cultural, political, historical, scientific, ethical, and economic forces that shape our world.

As our Centennial Anniversary approaches, we are proud to be San Diego’s oldest and largest independent, coeducational day school and we will continue with our commitment to provide a superior college preparatory education to the area’s youth. 858.569.7900, francisparker.org
