A Night in the Woods

San Diego Opera presented “A Night in the Woods,” the company’s 2020 Opera Lover’s Ball that enchanted and entertained while honoring the charitable contributions of Carol Lazier. The evening began with a private performance by world-renowned opera star Patricia Racette in the Oxford Social Club within The Pendry Hotel. Racette has sung leading roles at the major houses of the world including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Royal Opera House, La Scala, and Paris Opera, to name but a few. Following the performance, guests moved to the Grand Ballroom for dinner, the program, and dancing to The Mighty Untouchables. Chaired by San Diego Opera Chair of the Board, Sarah B. Marsh-Rebelo, the elegant affair was inspired by the company’s production of Hansel and Gretel. Host committee members included Candace Carroll, Joann Clark, Joyce M. Gattis, Phyllis Harris, Joan Henkelmann, Evelyn Lamden, Veronica Leff, Diana Lombrozo, Zandra Rhodes, Linda Spuck, Maria Stanley, Susan Ulevitch, Armi Williams, and Sara Zaknoen.
