Carlsbad cultural hub New Village Arts presented an exclusive ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the reopening of the newly-appointed Dea Hurston New Village Arts Center, the first arts center in the country to be named after a Black woman in the past 50 years. Renovations elevate the theater-focused space into a bonafide arts center with expanded offerings and capabilities for performances and education. Major upgrades include a new vibrant exterior, the Sahm Family Arts Education Center, naming of the Conrad Prebys Theatre, a one-of-a-kind live performance venue, expanded lobby space including the Patrick Farley Slainte! Bar, and more.
