More than 500 community leaders and advocates came together during Jewish Family Service of San Diego’s Heart & Soul Gala at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla to support the 99-year-old nonprofit and celebrate its 2017 Mitzvah Honorees: Edward Carnot and Louis Vener, Barbara and Mathew Loonin, and the National Charity League – San Dieguito Chapter. A “Fund-A-Mitzvah” paddle raise included a $200,000 donation match by honorary chairs Ernest & Evelyn Rady. The event raised more than $1.1 million in support of JFS’s efforts to “Move Forward Together” and build a stronger, healthier, more resilient San Diego.
