Philanthropic Football

Published
Hoping for a sellout crowd, the San Diego Enforcers, a football team made of S.D. law enforcement officers, firefighters, and paramedics, will kick off its season at the Hero Bowl on March 7. All proceeds benefit the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, which provides financial assistance to injured Marines and their families. The Enforcers are volunteer players of varying skill, and part of the National Public Safety Football League, a nonprofit organization made of 22 teams from across the country that raise funds to benefit a local charity during a four-game season. The Enforcers’ three home games will be played at Cathedral Catholic High School. (www.sandiegoenforcers.com)   RINA VAN ORDEN
