Million Dollar Match

The Escondido Humane Society (EHS) announced that a local supporter of animals will match every donation that is earmarked toward debt relief and growth, dollar for dollar, up to $1 million. Executive director Sally Costello notes, “It’s our hope that the Million Dollar Match campaign will encourage every friend of the animals to give what they can on the promise that it will be doubled. What a great return on investment.” A portion will go toward paying off the $1.01 million loan on EHS’ East Valley Parkway facility. If successful, it will allow EHS to purchase the facility so it can have a permanent home as a haven for the community’s homeless animals. (www.escondidohumanesociety.org)   JANE SHIOMI
