Jerry Hansen has been named director of operations for Schubach Aviation, announced Henry Schubach, president of San Diego private air charter company.

A 22-year veteran of the aviation industry, Hansen is charged with directing the firm’s communications with the FAA, providing flight-line oversight, formulating company plans and policies, and overseeing the hiring of flight and maintenance personnel. Currently he is working on expansion of Schubach Aviation’s flight line, while requalifying as a line pilot and check airman for the company’s five Hawker jets.

Most recently, Hansen served as director of operations for West Coast Charter in Santa Ana, CA, where he performed similar responsibilities. His previous career experience includes having served as director of operations for four years with Jimsair Charter in San Diego, and chief pilot for three years with Advanced Aviation in Long Beach.

He has completed numerous NBAA aviation management flight-training courses and holds ATP, CFI Gold Seal, MEI, CE550, HS125, and BE30 pilot certifications. He also maintains licenses in the state of California as a general contractor and an electrician. He attended Fullerton Junior College, where he majored in business.

Hansen has been an active member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He currently serves on the board of directors for his homeowners association.

Born in San Francisco and raised in Southern California, Hansen resides in Laguna Hills, CA, with Sandi Harry, whom he is engaged to marry on December 11.  He has a 27-year-old daughter. He was a carpenter, musician and actor before pursuing his life-long dream of becoming a pilot.
