Giving Back In A Very Bling Way

For John Matty, managing director of Martin Katz Rancho Santa Fe, supporting charitable causes was ingrained at a young age. “My parents were very philanthropic, so I watched them giving back growing up. It gets inside you, and yes, there is the business side of it, but it’s really all about the ‘good’ness.” Matty currently serves on the board of Pro Kids, which challenges underserved youth to excel in life by promoting character development, life skills, and values through education and the game of golf. He has also supported Promises2Kids, Kids Korps USA, the Rancho Santa Fe Community Center, and Rancho Santa Fe Little League. Up next, Matty is donating magnificent rubellite and diamond micro-set earrings valued at $18,000 for a live auction in support of San Pasqual Academy. “Bringing the money in is the whole point in the first place,” Matty concludes.    MIA STEFANKO
