Congratulations to Top of the Market’s executive chef Michael McDonald, named Chef of the Year by the California Restaurant Association San Diego Chapter. “Because these winners are nominated, and then voted upon by their colleagues in the restaurant industry, the Gold Medallion Awards are considered a huge honor by those who receive them,” notes chapter president Fred Glick. The awards gala allowed the culinary industry to gather to “recognize local restaurateurs and associates who have distinguished themselves through superior business practices, demonstrated leadership, and continue to influence the restaurant community and hospitality industry as a whole.”     JANESHIOMI
