Fourth of July Care Package Delivered to Overseas Platoon
Posted on July 31, 2019
The County of San Diego and LivHOME San Diego came together in a drive to create a care package for local soldier 1st Lieutenant Adrian Sanchez and his platoon of 32 who have been deployed overseas since December as part of Operation Inherent Resolve.
The donations were collected at LivHOME San Diego, where Sanchez’s mother, Araceli Gutierrez, is office co-lead, and delivered to the men of 2nd Platoon, Cougar Company, this past July 4. The package included a handwritten letter of gratitude and encouragement from Mayor Casillas Salas of Chula Vista, and was intended to provide much-needed supplies, reminders of home, and a morale boost to Lieutenant Sanchez and his platoon.
