The resort formerly known as Morgan Run in Rancho Santa Fe is on par to achieve its new look and identity.  Meriwether Companies and Springboard Hospitality announced the latest arrival:  Guesthouse, Hotel at La Valle. The 77-room boutique hotel has a decidedly local design team: architect Hanna Gabriel Wells of Ocean Beach and GroundLevel Landscape with offices in Little Italy and Rancho Santa Fe.

The $35 million transformation of the 200-acre retreat includes eight new tennis courts, eight pickleball courts, two private Padel courts, and a new 27-hole championship golf course. With 18 holes completed, renovations are underway on the final nine holes, including a new short game area and expanded driving range expected to be completed this winter.

Next up? A new yet-to-be-named restaurant. Wellness is also a centerpiece at a new spa featuring a hydrotherapy circuit,  infrared sauna, dry sauna and cold plunge areas, along with a major clubhouse.

“We’re eager to welcome guests to Guesthouse and to be part of the exciting transformation at La Valle Coastal Club,” says General Manager Fernando Fry. “This property was designed to reflect the relaxed luxury and natural beauty of Rancho Santa Fe, while offering an experience that feels both elevated and effortless.”

The hotel and clubhouse are the centerpiece of the project—from the arrival experience to the new resort pool. Relaxed and refined, it will personify the casual sophistication for which North County has become known.

“We’re taking an interesting approach that’s very unique to North County,” says David Likins of Merriweather Companies.  “It’s a fun coastal casual opportunity to enjoy friends and family in a low-key environment, and that’s rare for a country club.”

Meriwether Companies is a private real estate investment and development firm focused on resort master plan, hospitality and commercial development. Previous projects have included the Griffin Club in Los Angeles, the Aspen Club and Coral Mountain in La Quinta.

“We are touching all 200 acres of the property,” assured Likins.
