Big on charm. Rooted in history. And totally in demand.  in history. And totally in demand.

We’re talking about The Casitas at RSF, a rare collection of 13 detached luxury homes — both new builds and existing historic cottages — set on 8.14 acres on Stephen Royce Drive adjacent to The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. A decade in the planning, they were reimagined by Anne Sneed Architectural Interiors and recently debuted at $2 million to $5 million.

“We celebrated the small casita feel and maintained the charming characteristics while making necessary upgrades to meet the needs of today’s Rancho Santa Fe residents,” says Todd Brown, Principal at Anne Sneed.

The Casitas feature a fresh material palette that riffs on the classic Rancho Santa Fe aesthetic. Highlights include custom cabinetry by Lorenz Busch Woodworking, a bespoke bar by Maiden Steel, and brass fixtures with wabi-sabi warmth. Indoor-outdoor living is of the essence with walkability as a key feature. Anne Sneed Architectural Interiors nurtured an intimate scale to maintain the quiet communal neighborhood feel

The community includes five brand-new casitas and eight original casitas, some of which date back to the 1950s. The OG casitas will be for sale with pre-approved plans, allowing buyers the flexibility to choose finishes and materials. Blueprints range from one to three bedrooms, and 1,100-3,300 square feet.

“The Casitas give 13 residents a practical, walkable, no-fuss turnkey lifestyle right in the heart of Rancho,” says listing agent Andrew Appleby of Appleby Family Group.

Enjoy resort living with access to all the hotel perks: fitness, pool, spa and room service. The updated aesthetic includes Kelly Wearstler sconces, a custom bar by Maiden Steel, LaCantina doors, and custom cabinetry by Lorenz Busch Woodworking.

There are also nods to The Covenant’s founding architect Lilian J. Rice. The indoor-outdoor floor plans are integrated into the mature landscape while forthcoming outdoor spaces include courtyards, a citrus orchard, and “Community Green” with fountains.

Above all, the Casitas satisfy the community’s appetite for high-quality empty-nester domains, according to Brown, who adds, “Our vision is to elevate the living experience within this world-class community.”
