It’s a store. It’s an event venue. It’s the buzziest design spot in North County

They ooh. They aah.
Necks crane toward the high ceilings draped in swags of creamy fabric. Customers move gingerly through the 7,000-square-foot space dubbed “The Grange,” where tabletops are dripping in urns. An outdoor terrace is bedecked with a greenhouse, which can be replicated upon request, for your own backyard. Sculptural houseplants are by the beloved Printwood. And the antiques? Freshly unloaded from a French container. It’s a Coup de Foudre!

Since it opened in Carlsbad this summer, Comman Goods by Apostrophe Home manages to uplift and inspire everyone who walks through its doors. There are handmade goods by 11 different SD brands — from candles and rugs to silk and cards. Still forthcoming: A furniture showroom and studio housed in a vintage bungalow.

“We wanted to create a venue space that comes as a full package,” says Jeff Grant, co-founder. “We’re feeling the community vibes here.”
Understatement. Already booked are weddings, rehearsal dinners, baby showers, bridal showers, community gatherings, and workshops. There’s also a rental component. Essentially, every item that’s for sale is also available for rent. Just check the sticker price for the daily rental fee.

This marks the second concept for Jenkins and Grant after a successful debut of Comman Goods in the East Village. That 4,000-square-foot marketplace and event venue opened last year.
Next up? The Apostrophe Home flagship store in Encinitas is slated to be unveiled later this fall. Featuring Printwood and Friday Flower Company, it will be located in the former Encinitas Glass space on F Street. apostrophehome.com
