Vogue’s Next Gen
Local girl-who-made-good Kelly Connor is moving up fast in the fashion world. The former Rancho Santa Fe resident and Bishops School grad is now market editor at Vogue Magazine in New York, where she has worked for the past three years (after interning at Tibi, Marc Jacobs, and Lanvin). Connor is also market editor of Vogue.com, curating the Web site’s denim and holiday gift guides and editing such features as Most Wanted, Social Shopper, and Five Days, Five Looks, One Girl. In Connor’s case, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Mom Kathleen modeled in New York and Tokyo, where Kelly was born. Known to raid her mother’s closet (vintage Missoni pants are among her faves), Kelly and Kathleen were featured in Ageless Fashion on Vogue.com, sharing how the latest fall looks can be worn by women of any generation.
