Paint The Town Green

Ayn Riggs, owner of Escondido’s Metro Wallworks, has seen the immense waste from construction sites through the years. Determined to be part of the solution, Riggs has vowed to reclaim 50,000 paint cans from hazardous-waste landfills. In turn, Metro Wallworks has just introduced high-quality, affordable recycled paint. From old cans, metal is sold as scrap metal, plastic is recycled, other elements become cement additives, and the rest finds new life on walls. “My mission is to be the catalyst for San Diego to lead the rest of the country as users of recycled paint,” Riggs notes.
