The La Jolla Village Merchant Association has created Takeout Taste of the Village, an innovative new way for the community to enjoy great food and support La Jolla’s beloved restaurants amid the ordinances and restrictions limiting normal operations during the pandemic.

Patrons can purchase a ticket for $85, which will include a curated four-course take-out meal for two from select area restaurants to be picked up and enjoyed at home or from a favorite picnic spot. Only a limited number of tickets for each day will be sold, and each purchase also includes a reusable insulated bag to keep dishes just right until it’s time for them to be enjoyed.

Each evening’s menu and the restaurants selected to provide each course will be shaped by a different theme. They are: March 22, Cali-Coastal; March 23, Vegetarian; March 24, Seafood & Charcuterie; and March 25, Italian. Participating restaurants include American Pizza Mfg., Bobboi Natural Gelato, Cherry Wine Modern Asian Cuisine, Cove House, Duke’s La Jolla, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, El Avocado, Froglanders Crepes & Yogurt, Häagen-Dazs La Jolla, Isola Pizza Bar, Jose’s Court Room, La Dolce Vita Ristorante, Parakeet Café, Piazza 1909, Raymundo’s Taco Shop, and Smallgoods American Cheeses & Provisions.

The La Jolla Village Merchant Association will donate 20 percent of every ticket sold back to the participating restaurants, and any gratuities go directly back to the restaurants as well.
