Switchfoot Bro-Am

The highly anticipated Switchfoot Bro-Am is back for its 21st year, expanding its impact with the return of the Benefit Party alongside the beloved Beach Fest.
This year promises an even greater opportunity to celebrate music, surfing, and community while raising crucial funds for San Diego youth beneficiaries. The Benefit Party will kick off the festivities on Thursday, June 19, 2025, followed by the free and family-friendly Beach Fest on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas.
Building on a legacy that has raised over $2.75 million since 2005, the Bro-Am events continue to support non-profit organizations dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth through programs focused on fundamental needs, as well as music, art, and surfing. This year’s proceeds will directly benefit the 2025 beneficiaries: A Step Beyond, Challenged Athletes Foundation, Feeding San Diego, Monarch School, Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego, and Save The Music Foundation.
The Benefit Party will offer a festive evening filled with North County San Diego’s best bites and sips, one-of-a-kind silent and live auction packages, and an exclusive performance by Switchfoot and special guests, including youth beneficiary guests. The event is a vital fundraising platform before the excitement moves to Moonlight Beach.
The Beach Fest is expected to draw thousands and will feature the signature blend of surf contests, live music headlined by the Grammy award-winning rock band Switchfoot, special musical guests, brand activations, and vendor booths. Attendees can once again look forward to thrilling surf competitions, including the Rob Machado Bro-Junior Contest showcasing talented young local surfers, and the always entertaining Surf Joust Battle. The Adaptive Surf Youth Program, presented by Challenged Athletes Foundation, will also return and the Bro-Am Foundation is honored to provide an opportunity for this program to actively cultivate the next generation of adaptive surfers.
“The entire day brings the focus back to the kids within our community — specifically the challenged, homeless, and at-risk youth — and tells them that their lives matter,” says Switchfoot’s Tim Foreman.
Demonstrating its deep commitment to sustainability, the Bro-Am is a proud 1% for the Planet Environmental Partner. This year’s events will feature comprehensive zero-waste initiatives, including composting and recycling stations expertly managed by the Bro-Am Green Team. Furthering these efforts, a partnership with the Rob Machado Foundation ensures Beach Fest remains free of single-use plastics through readily available water refill stations.
The unwavering commitment of Bro-Am’s sponsors, donors, event vendors, and partners, alongside the invaluable dedication of countless volunteers, demonstrates the powerful spirit of the Bro-Am community uniting to create meaningful opportunities for San Diego youth, helping ensure every kid has a chance at a thriving future.
