Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Spring Fling is going virtual

Helen Woodward Animal Center’s popular Fling Gala returns this fall in an innovative online format to honor those who support the nonprofit organization.

“Jewels of the Earth – A Tropic Escape at Home” will brighten up computer screens at 7pm with a live complimentary one-hour program. The moving broadcast will feature special guests, heartwarming updates, live entertainment, and the adorable four-footed stars of the evening, the center’s orphan pets. Keeping up with tradition, committee restaurant chair Ann Dizney is securing top eateries whose delicious entrees, signature cocktails, and decadent desserts will be home-delivered to gala attendees with the purchase of a ticket. The night will include an online auction featuring items including luxurious getaways, a Peloton bike, Nordstrom shopping spree and spa day, fine jewelry, and more.

The Fling Gala is the center’s biggest fundraising event of the year. With 13 unique programs dedicated to the “mission of people helping animals and animals helping people,” its work became even more valuable with the onset of COVID-19. Co-chairs are Jamie Carr and Erin Combs; committee chairs include Vicki Brown and Mary Cuzens.
