sPARK Awards

Forever Balboa Park’s sPARK Awards honor those enhancing Balboa Park’s cultural and environmental impact.
This ticketed event will begin with an exclusive welcome reception at the newly restored Botanical Building, followed by an evening of live music, engaging speakers, a hosted bar, and networking over dessert. San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria will give remarks at the awards ceremony, highlighting Balboa Park’s vital role in the community. The sPARK Awards will recognize excellence in three categories: Igniting Innovation, Crossing Boundaries, and Enhancing Ecosystems. Each awardee will receive a $5,000 prize to benefit their nonprofit of affiliation, ensuring that their work continues to thrive and inspire future generations. The ceremony will be hosted by Ramel J. Wallace, emcee/host of CreativeMornings San Diego, CEO of The Holyfield, and senior community manager at BAM. The panelists include Jennifer Luce, FAIA, principal of LUCE et studio; Susanna Peredo Swap, founder and executive director of Vanguard Culture; and Patrick Montgomery, landscape architect at Native West Nursery.
