Purple Up Day

April is the Month of the Military Child, and Purple Up Day on April 15 shines a light on the courage of military children.

Growing up in a military family means living through constant change, from deployments and family separation to the adjustments that come with reunions. These experiences can take a toll on a child’s emotional well-being. At the Armed Services YMCA San Diego, youth programs help military children feel supported, understood, and connected to a community that shares their journey. This month, the organization invites the community to honor their resilience and help continue strengthening military families.
