La Jolla Modernism

The annual La Jolla Modernism (October 3-5) is extending for another week with  Architecture Week (October 6–12).

Celebrate the beauty and legacy of modernist architecture with a weekend of exclusive events that support the La Jolla Historical Society’s free exhibitions, educational programs, and preservation initiatives.

This year’s events include the celebrated Modernism Home Tour, Saturday, October 4; a Studio & Showroom Tour at Hobbs Modern, Sunday, October 5; a book signing at Luce et Studios, Sunday, October 5 with The Distinct Modernism of San Diego by Rev. Dr. Mark Hargreaves that coincides with a visit to the studio of contemporary modernist architect Jennifer Luce.

Also on the roster: Timeless Architecture: An Artist Tribute to La Jolla, Thursday, October 9, a special evening celebrating the architectural paintings by Paula McColl and a panel discussion with design professionals reflecting on the region’s architectural legacy. Meanwhile, on Sunday, October 12, celebrate the La Jolla Jewel Awards, an inspiring afternoon honoring the individuals and projects who have made outstanding contributions to La Jolla’s architectural heritage.
