Hawthorne Country Store’s Chicktopia

Hawthorne Country Store invites the community to its annual Chick Day, a springtime favorite celebrating backyard chickens and home flocks.

Taking place from 9am to 5pm at Hawthorne Country Store locations in Escondido, Fallbrook, and Santee, this free, family-friendly event features more than 100 varieties of baby poultry, offering a unique opportunity to learn about raising chickens at home. Guests can explore different breeds, ask questions, and discover the benefits of backyard chickens, from fresh eggs to natural fertilizer and waste reduction. Hundreds of families attend each year, making it a lively and educational outing for all ages. A special Peep Show preview event will be held the evening before for ticketed guests.
