This month, Seasons Restaurant at Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara will usher in the summer monarch butterfly migration with a garden designed to showcase these ethereal beauties as they pass through Southern California with an exclusive happy hour menu created in their honor.
The restaurant’s outdoor veranda will be planted with a native milkweed to attract the butterflies, who’ll show off their delicate grace as diners enjoy custom-crafted cocktails, including the eponymous “Monarch Spritz” and “The Great Migration,” an inventive take on the classic margarita featuring activated charcoal, plus light bites and desserts inspired by the monarchs.
A portion of proceeds from the Butterfly Garden menu will be donated to the nonprofit Butterfly Farms in Encinitas. Just as the butterflies will ultimately continue on their migratory path, the menu, too, is only offered through September 6, so catch it before it flies away! Deanna Murphy
