Cystic Fibrosis Foundation presents the 8th Annual Grand Chef Throwdown, an unforgettable evening of epicurean splendor that will showcase the talents of more than 30 of the best chefs from San Diego and Baja, with TV personality and magazine publisher Troy Johnson serving as emcee.
The progressive evening will bring together foodies and a Culinary Council of celebrity chefs, food critics, and San Diego personalities. The Culinary Council will take on the tough task of decisively awarding the Chef Flor Franco Awards for Culinary Excellence based on specific criteria for each dish. The 2022 Icon Award will be presented to David and Leslie Cohn, founders of the Cohn Restaurant Group, a staple of San Diego’s dining scene since 1981 as well as committed community supporters. Guests will gather on The Del’s seaside Windsor Lawn, where they will enjoy chef tastings and sample craft cocktails and sips from wineries on both sides of the border followed by a two-course gourmet dinner prepared by Executive Chef Stefan Peroutka in the Oceanfront Ballroom, where the awards presentation and program will commence.
