34th Annual Peacemaker Awards

When to

The National Conflict Resolution Center will present its 34th Annual Peacemaker Awards to honor individuals and organizations dedicated to peacemaking in their own neighborhoods and around the world.

The inspiring outdoor evening, this year themed “Bridging What Divides Us,” will spotlight the importance of civility, peacemaking, and social justice after several years of historic uncertainty and unrest. The 2022 honorees include Barbara F. Walter, UC San Diego professor and New York Times best-selling author of How Civil Wars Start: And How to Stop Them; Voices of Our City Choir, for building community through music and amplifying the voices of people experiencing homelessness in San Diego; and Rolf and Mary Benirschke, for a lifetime of charitable giving and collaboration to uplift and empower individuals and communities from all corners of society. Longtime San Diego community leader Michael Brunker will serve as emcee.

Funds raised will help NCRC’s transformative work, including its innovative Avoiding the Pipeline to Prison initiative, which is focused on building justice systems based on restoration instead of punishment, holding youth accountable, and empowering them to become thriving, contributing adults.
