Burger Lounge to open in Flower Hill Promenade

Published

Burger Lounge, the San Diego born-and-raised fast-casual concept heralded for its 100 percent grass-fed beef burgers and vegetarian options, is beefing up North County with the opening of a new restaurant in Del Mar on April 18. Located in the newly revamped Flower Hill Promenade, the restaurant will be the company’s tenth locale throughout San Diego and Los Angeles, and will open with Burger Lounge’s recently refreshed menu in tow.

Burger Lounge, which was founded in 2007 in La Jolla on the principles of always using fresh, 100 percent American single-source grass-fed beef, sourcing ingredients from sustainable environments, and using eco-conscious practices, will partner with the local San Diego chapter of the Surfrider Foundation for its opening festivities. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the worlds’ oceans, waves and beaches, a cause that is of particular importance to the surrounding seaside community of Del Mar.

On Thursday, April 18, all proceeds from the sale of the Lounge Burger will be donated to the San Diego Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation. Then, on Friday, April 19, all proceeds from the sale of all the vegetarian options at Burger Lounge, including the Organic Quinoa Veggie Burger, Fresh Vegetable Salad, and Organic Quinoa Salad, will be donated to the local Surfrider Foundation chapter.

“The opening of our Del Mar location is a significant milestone for Burger Lounge as our first location in North County,” says Burger Lounge president/CEO J. Dean Loring. “It’s a tight-knit community that, while centered around the beach culture, has a uniquely laid-back and honest personality that’s in-line with the purity of the Burger Lounge concept.”

The Del Mar locale will open up shop with Burger Lounge’s newly revamped menu, which is also popping up at all locations throughout San Diego and Los Angeles. The signature grass-fed beef Lounge Burger, Free Range Turkey Burger and beloved Quinoa Veggie Burger, will now be joined by the formerly off-the-menu “Classic” Burger featuring organic American cheese, organic ketchup, mustard, pickles, and onion. Lighter appetites can also enjoy their grass-fed beef or free-range turkey Little Lounge-style with all the requisite fixings in a more compact package. Guests can further customize their burgers by opting for the signature Lounge Bun, made with organic whole wheat and unbleached white flour and a hint of Blackstrap molasses; a fresh lettuce leaf wrap; or the restaurant’s new gluten-free bun.

To complement its burgers, guests can dig into Burger Lounge’s always fresh-cut French Fries and light and crispy Onion Rings, or freshen up with the new Nice Little Side Salad featuring romaine, spinach, arugula, corn, red onion, carrot, and housemade lemon-basil vinaigrette. Guests can also find leafy green relief in truly healthy salad offerings that include the Organic Quinoa Salad and Fresh Veggie Salad. All sides and salads are accompanied by Burger Lounge’s housemade sauces and dressings.

Burger Lounge’s commitment to doing a common thing, uncommonly well, extends to the beverage selection as well with fair trade, cane-sweetened fountain soda sourced from Maine Root; and four organic brewed iced teas. Like all Burger Lounge locations, Del Mar will offer local craft beers on tap and wine by-the-glass.

To cap off the meal, Burger Lounge is shaking up its dessert offerings with new additions to the line-up. Indulge in traditional hand-dipped Lounge Shakes made with chocolate or vanilla Dreyer’s Ice Cream, or sip on the new Chocolate Caramel Sea Salt Brownie Shake or Coffee Shake. The Lounge Float, available with Maine Root’s cane-sweetened Root Beer, and à la carte housemade Caramel Sea Salt Brownie round out the sweet offerings.

Burger Lounge’s Del Mar outpost is located at 2710 Via De La Valle, Del Mar, CA, 92014, and will be open from 10:30am to 10pm, Sunday thru Thursday, and 10:30am to 11pm, Friday and Saturday. (858.720.1200, www.burgerlounge.com)
