2011 Fight For Air Climb

Published

The Omni San Diego Hotel is serving as host and sponsor of the American Lung Association in California 2011 Fight For Air Climb fundraising event alongside honorary chair, San Diego Chargers linebacker Larry English. Together they are raising awareness for healthy lungs and healthy air with a 31-floor stair climb set for Sunday, February 27, from 11am-4pm.

The Fight For Air Climb is a unique vertical challenge to raise the funds necessary to provide education, research, and advocacy to beat lung disease and find a cure.  Along with the general public, current participants also include local personalities, athletes, firefighters, and lifeguards. Individuals and teams will walk or stride up hundreds of stairs to reach the 31st floor of the Omni San Diego Hotel, which will be followed by a festival in the Omni’s ballroom with food, drinks, entertainment, and music from Magic 92.5. Larry English, who suffers from asthma, is excited about his role and will be on-site during the event. A registration fee of $25 is required. All participants are asked to raise $100. (619/683-8650, www.fightforairclimb.org)
