Shelter To Soldier 2nd Annual Benefit
On Monday, July 28, at 6pm, Shelter To Soldier presents a benefit at The Ultimate Skybox downtown featuring a special screening of Bucket List starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, along with an exclusive Q & A with the film’s producer and screenwriter Justin Zackham. The evening will also feature fantastic silent and live auctions, an opportunity drawing, and cuisine by Toast Catering, The Wild Thyme Catering, and Cupcakes Squared, as well as tequila tastings by Nobleza Tequila. Proceeds will support the organization’s mission of rescuing dogs facing an uncertain future in the shelter, training those dogs to become certified psychiatric service companions, and placing them at no charge with a combat veteran suffering from PTSD. “New statistics continue to be so sad and alarming,” says Shelter to Soldier founder Graham Bloem. “More than 22 veterans commit suicide daily in the U.S. (that is one life lost every 65 minutes), and millions of dogs are euthanized annually in shelters across the country.” The community is invited to help Shelter to Soldier save lives — two at a time. Tickets are $100. (www.sheltertosoldier.org)
