Secret Garden Tour of La Jolla
Secret Garden Tour of La Jolla
May 20, 2017
The Secret Garden Tour of Old La Jolla offers a unique opportunity to wander through the garden gates and courtyards of some of La Jolla’s most exclusive secret gardens. Participants can learn about horticulture, garden design, and historic architecture while supporting the La Jolla Historical Society’s diverse programs for residents and visitors alike. The 2017 gardens include a historically designated 1930s Edgar Ulrich fantasy castle with romantic gardens to match, a Cape Cod Ranch overlooking canyons and the ocean with vegetable gardens and fruit trees, a 1930s Spanish-style home set in a botanical wonderland with specimen plants and spectrums of color, an elegant home set amongst drought-resistant plants over more than an acre property, and more. Each will be enhanced with music performed by local musicians, tabletop displays by designers and merchants, and artists in the garden. New this year is the “Friday Night Garden Candlelight Soirée,” an intimate garden gathering the night before the tour. lajollahistory.org/events/secret-garden-tour
