San Salvador Fandango
On September 28, 1542, during a Voyage of Discovery northward from Mexico, explorer Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo entered what we know today as San Diego Bay commanding his flagship San Salvador. Centuries later, the Maritime Museum of San Diego has nearly completed construction of a representation of the original galleon. On Saturday, September 27, San Salvador Fandango is set to take place to benefit the San Salvador project and to celebrate this magnificent achievement. (www.sdmaritime.org)
