The richly red hued ruby signifies 40th anniversaries, making it a fitting theme for San Diego Repertory Theatre to mark its 40th year in 2016 by throwing a big party. The celebration takes place in the Shiley Special Events Suite in the Central Library @ Joan  Λ Irwin Jacobs Common. Join fans, performers, crew, staff, and community members as REP “family” recall the most memorable moments of the organization’s past 40 years. Tribute will be paid to co-founder and Artistic Director Sam Woodhouse, and guests will enjoy extraordinary food and signature drinks, live music by Gilbert Castellanos and friends, pop-up performances, a special musical REP Retrospective directed by Javier Velasco, and a few surprises as well. 619.231.3586, sdrep.org   DARLENE G.
