Not one, but two. Pirch is debuting sister showrooms in the Cedros Design District in Solana Beach. Responding to a booming home improvement sector that has surged during lockdown, the San Diego-based company handpicked the venues on North and South Cedros to show off their wares.

“It was important to offer convenience during this period and provide the most options for outdoor living in the optimal setting,” says Jarrod Adler, Pirch Sales Manager, as he slides open the store’s pocket doors to a fading marine layer.

Located across from the train station, the Bath & Outdoor showroom on North Cedros embodies the very indoor-outdoor design that homeowners are seeking. The back veranda serves as the ultimate alfresco test kitchen with a world-class lineup of outdoor appliances and grills in a spectrum of powder-coated shades and price tags. (There’s even Tiffany Blue.) The $40,000 Kalamazoo barbecue and pizza oven, made in Michigan of marine grade steel, is the backyard brag.

Inside, there’s a curated selection of global bathroom finds from Fantini, THG, Samuel Heath, Gessi, Graff, Brizo, and House of Rohl. There’s a section of 12 active rain showers, rows of deep-soak, stand-alone tubs, gallery displays of sculptural vessel sinks, and a dizzying selection of faucets and hardware, many geared toward weathering the salt air. “Over time, the live metals really capture the beauty of the patina,” says Adler.

The Pirch golf cart shuttles clients between the two locations for a breezy .2-mile ride along the design district. The small three-block stretch is big on character with its historic Quonset architecture, independent boutiques, and new foodie arrivals.

The Kitchen & Appliance showroom, located on South Cedros, is slated to open this month. It features 15 full kitchen displays from megawatt brands like Sub-Zero, Wolf, Miele, Thermador, Gaggenau, and JennAir. There’s also cabinetry and countertops on display, including a partnership with the former tenant, Aranelli Design.

Pirch has four additional Southern California showrooms including Costa Mesa, Rancho Mirage, Glendale, and the grand poohbah in UTC. With its test-driving capabilities and in-house barista, the Pirch concept was the first to disrupt the showroom space when it debuted in 2010.

Upon opening, that San Diego store featured many of Pirch’s signature touches: appliances displayed in vignettes, products plumbed and plugged, and kitchens ready for demonstration. Pirch focused on customer engagement and a strikingly different shopping experience than offered at any other existing decorative plumbing and hardware showroom.

Today, the stores serve as hubs for appliance innovations such as voice-activated faucets (Hey, Alexa!), and ovens that automatically gauge the rare center of your rib-eye.

“What’s most important is that people feel safe and uplifted inside and outside of their homes,” says Adler. Pirch Bath & Outdoor showroom, 202 N. Cedros Ave.; Pirch Kitchen & Appliance showroom, 118 S. Cedros Ave. 858.966.3655, pirch.com

Their customer service is non existent. They don’t answer their phone and they don’t call back when you leave a message and if you go in the store the person can’t answer your question and no one has ever followed up with an answer.
