The Poinsettia Ball is celebrating its 29th year of black tie festivities in the spirit of the giving season to benefit North County Coastal youth, families, and seniors in need. The Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA and The Paul Ecke, Jr. Poinsettia Ball Committee are striving to raise $200,000 for community outreach and YMCA scholarship opportunities. This year’s event will include an honorary toast for Paul Ecke, Jr.’s birthday. Paul was a founding member of the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA, which was later named in honor of his mother, Magdalena. The gala’s namesake followed Paul’s passing in 2002 and is an annual tradition of continuing his spirit for supporting the community. This year, the event date coincides with what would have been his 94th birthday. Guests will experience holiday merriment while enjoying fine cuisine by Culinary Concepts, dancing and live entertainment by NRG Music & Productions, and bidding on luxurious auction items. ymca.org/poinsettia-ball
