Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Laughter

Published

Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Laughter will be held on October 24 at Liberty Station benefiting three local charities focused on combat veterans — Lives of Promise, Kristine Taylor Philanthropies, and Shelter to Soldier. This inaugural event, hosted by Channel 6 news anchor Marc Bailey, will feature a live auction and the comedic genius of Mark Christopher Lawrence, Dustin Nickerson, and Anita Milner. Festivities include the USMC color guard showcasing Logan Edra performing the National Anthem, and a live auction as well as an opportunity drawing that will benefit active military personnel, veterans, and their families.

“When I presented the idea of a USO-type of comedy event to Michelle Pius, event chair and major sponsor, she couldn’t say yes fast enough. The event and format has attracted a great deal of community support,” says Charisse Kaufman, president of Lives of Promise. “We have been providing support services and housing for our veterans with PTSD for over ten years and Michelle decided that we needed to celebrate our success and raise awareness and funding for all veterans, especially those suffering with PTSD. We are delighted that this event will also benefit Shelter to Soldier. Graham Bloem and his incredible team work side-by-side with veterans and rescued dogs, making a huge and positive impact by enabling veterans with PTSD to function more easily in settings that would otherwise be extremely stressful or even impossible.”

Tables of ten are still available (the sponsor gets 6 tickets and hosts 4 military). Table sponsorships start at $2,500. A limited number of individual tickets are available for $185/each. Uniformed military personnel are invited at no cost. For more info please contact Michelle Pius or visit the event site by clicking here. (760.707.4375, michelle@habitbrands.com)
