Hubbell Open House and Studio Tour

Published

The Ilan-Lael Foundation, an education and art nonprofit, is in the process of building a foundation residence to be used for public interaction including classes, art displays, and lectures. It will also provide headquarters for the business and programmatic duties of the Ilan-Lael Foundation on James Hubbell’s art-filled compound in Santa Ysabel. As a space for public activities, the building will feature a meeting space to accommodate organizations and retreats, as well as a courtyard amphitheater designed for outdoor classes and events. The structure is designed by San Diego’s famed prolific artist, James Hubbell, and features all new art installations by Hubbell including mosaic, plaster of Paris relief, stained glass, and iron work. There is also a sundial, created with rock, tile, and forged metal, which honors the donors who have generously contributed and made the construction possible. The first phase of construction will be on display for the Ilan-Lael Foundation Open House Studio and Home Tour on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16, from 11am-4pm. Tickets are available online.
