Drink, Dine & Welcome 2013 At W San Diego

Published

W San Diego is preparing for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day festivities not to be missed. Along with W San Diego’s NYE celebration, the chic hotel will also be celebrating with food and drink specials on December 31 and January 1.

For New Year’s Eve, fuel up on Kelvin’s celebratory menu, created by executive chef Kevin Harry, before all the fun begins, with two seatings at 6pm and at 9pm. The four-course, prix-fixe menu is priced at $85 per person and features dishes such as Sweet Corn Veloute with Dungeness Crab and Roasted Corn Kernels, a refreshing Meyer Lemon Sorbet set on a Gold Leaf Champagne Jelly, Tequila Candied Halibut with a Warm Fingerling Potato and Tomato Salad Watercress, topped off with Saffron Vanilla Sauce and a Café Con Leche Crème Brulee with Whipped Cream and Shortbread Cookie.

After dinner, guests are invited to celebrate the night in the Living Room for W San Diego’s “Unmasq’d” NYE Masquerade Party. Party-goers will slip into complimentary, festive masks and unveil their alter-ego for the last few hours of 2012. Insiders will enjoy sounds by violinist Yvonne Shay, DJ Tim Thompson, Colour Vision, and DJ Ayla Simone. A midnight countdown will toast farewell to 2012 and welcome the New Year with a hosted flute of bubbly for every guest. Cover is priced at $40 per person.

On New Year’s Day, revelers can revive with a little “hair of the dog.”  A “create-your-own” bloody mary or beer cocktail bar with sweet and savory bites on the rooftop, and a mimosa bar in the living room, will be open from 11am until 5pm.
