KPBS Gala
KPBS Gala
In the spirit of adventure, KPBS Celebrates! will take attendees on a cultural journey around the world and back in time. The station’s signature fundraiser will take place on Saturday, March 28, at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines, and will highlight Japan, India, and Brazil through music, dance, costume, and imagery. The vintage travel theme was selected by gala chair and station supporter Kimberly Heller Godwin. Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception, auction, seated dinner, and entertainment. Also planned is a tribute to the Beyster family, recently named as Visionaries in the KPBS Hall of Fame. Led by SAIC founder Robert Beyster, the family has supported KPBS for over 25 years. In addition to the Beysters, KPBS will induct local broadcast legend Ken Kramer into the Hall of Fame with the Lifetime Achievement award. Kramer, who started his career at KPBS in the late 1960s, is best known as the host of About San Diego. Gala tickets are $500 each or $5,000 for a table of ten. (www.kpbs.org/gala)
