Farm to Bay
The Living Coast Discovery Center, a nonprofit zoo and aquarium, will host Farm To Bay, its sixth annual culinary celebration, on Saturday, August 8, from 4-7:30pm. The unique tasting event brings together some of San Diego’s finest restaurants, breweries, and farms to support the center’s coastal wildlife, education, and sustainability programs. This year, Nicolas Bour, executive chef at Loews Coronado Bay Resort, has joined the event as culinary chair. Confirmed restaurant partners include: Eclipse Chocolate Bar & Bistro, 1500 Ocean, Tidal, Común Kitchen & Tavern, Mistral, Table 926, Kitchen 4140, Sushi on a Roll, The Fishery, and more. Participating local farms and specialty purveyors include: Bread & Cie, Suzie’s Farm, and Sage Mountain Farm, among others. The event will also offer wine and beer samplings from The Lost Abbey, Karl Strauss Brewing Co., Rough Draft Brewing Co., California Fruit Wine, and more. Tickets are $80. (www.thelivingcoast.org)
