California Surf Museum 7th Annual Gala

Published

On Saturday, October 4, the 7th annual California Surf Museum Gala partners with Feeding the Soul Foundation to present a live performance from local music guests, Cody Lovaas. The ocean view Springhill Suites Marriott, in downtown Oceanside, will set the night with its spectacular surroundings. Enjoy food by Slice of Heaven Catering, cocktails, a silent auction and the acoustic sounds from the San Diego Music Award nominee.

San Diego-raised singer-songwriter Cody Lovaas has discovered a voice and pure direction that makes it hard to believe he is only sixteen years old. His preferred means of travel is a surfboard, which carries him through crystalline days along the Pacific Coast. Influenced by artists such as Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Ben Howard, and Ed Sheeran, Lovaas seamlessly combines his love for music and surf into fluid blues-imbued acoustic machinations.

The night is intended to raise funds for the California Surf Museum. Founded in 1986, its mission is to serve as an international repository and resource center on the lifestyle sport of surfing through capturing, preserving, and chronicling its art, culture, and heritage for the education and enjoyment of future generations. From its inception, the California Surf Museum has become a staple for preserving the history of surfing. Tickets are $120 for museum members; $140 for non-members; $50 for youth 16 years and under.
