Tickets are now on sale for the 91X Wrex The Halls concert featuring AFI, Rise Against, 30 Seconds To Mars, Anberlin, and Paper Tongues.
Headlining the show, AFI returns to San Diego ready to show the depth of its rock repertoire realized through its latest album, Crash Love, released in September 2009. Harnessing its intensity and edge, the band worked on this personal and thematic album after great success with the 2006 chart-topping Decemberunderground featuring hits “Miss Murder” and “Love Like Winter.”
Up next is punk rockers Rise Against. Known for their dark yet catchy lyrics and their ragged-voiced lead singer, the band hits the stage with older favorites like “Swing Life Away” and “Prayer Of The Refugee” as well as singles from their latest album Appeal To Reason like “Audience Of One” and “Savior.”
30 Seconds To Mars’ front-man Jared Leto boasts silver-screen fame, but the lead singer and guitarist is sure to rock with singles from sophomore album A Beautiful Lie including “The Kill,” “Attack,” and “From Yesterday.” Expect new songs in the mix from the band’s latest album This Is War, scheduled for release on December 8.
Anberlin brings energy to the stage with songs from albums including Never Take Friendship Personal, Cities, and the most recent release, New Surrender. Along with hit single “Feel Good Drag,” listen for “Reclusion” and my personal favorite, “Paperthin Hymn.”
Opening the show is Paper Tongues, a Charlotte, North Carolina-based band getting ready to go on the Hello Hurricane tour with Switchfoot. Listen for new single “Rides to California.”
The show is set for Sunday, December 13, at 6:30pm at Viejas Arena. Tickets are $39 for this all ages show. (619/220-TIXS, www.ticketmaster.com) RINA VAN ORDEN
