Three Story House

Published

Through September 30, MOPA turns the lens on one of the most revealing and intimate elements of personal life, the home, with Three Story House: Selections from MOPA’s Photography Collection. Drawn from MOPA’s collection of over 7,000 images, Three Story House explores how photographers have used the domestic environment to tell stories of how and where we live, as well as how the home functions as a creative, art-making space. The exhibition features images that range from discreet personal documents, to unexpected images that reflect creativity and represent the notion of home, including works from Ansel Adams, William Eggleston, Sally Mann, Arnold Newman, and Stephen Shore, among others. “Three Story House is an exploration of the domestic setting as a place of renewal and daily growth,” says Deborah Klochko, executive director, MOPA. “We are very excited for the opportunity to share these images that celebrate the beauty in the everyday and reveal the varied purposes and inspiration of the home environment.” (619/238-7559, www.mopa.org/threestoryhouse)
