October @ Lux

Published

Creation of art is an active process, and Lux Art Institute in Encinitas knows that. Executive director Reesey Shaw and her staff follow the careers of promising artists and invite a select few to spend time in residency at the campus. There, creative people interact with supporters and board members, as well as families and children participating in classes. The environment is energetic and engaging. This month, Free Saturday is on the 2nd and offers guided tours as well as a hands-on art project in the Lux classroom. Also, look for Timothy Horn to remain through October 9. He’s been constructing a sculpture of nickel-plated bronze and blown glass for his “Tree of Heaven” series. Closing the 9th with pizzazz, a private estate in Rancho Santa Fe will host the Lux After Dark Gala. Then, on October 20, Lux@Night is open to the public.
